One of the targets of the Friends is to plan, map and publicise some new walks in Dalby Forest. The first of these, The Woodcock Way, is ready for all to try, It’s about 4.5 miles (7km) in length and, allowing for stops at viewpoints, should take you about 2 – 3 hours. The walk starts and finishes at High Staindale car park and a map/information sheet is available from the Dalby Visitors Centre. The link on the right will take you to an overview page.
The walk has been reviewed by the Friends and extra benches and picnic tables added along the route. there are a few improvements still to be completed which will include a sign to show that the walk may also be started from the Crosscliff Car Park.
The Blue Man Walk is still under review by Forestry Commission Blue Man Walk - watch here for further news.
Further walks will be added to this section of the website when they are created.
The committee are always looking to propose new walks and would welcome suggestions from members – Do you have a favourite walk which is not waymarked? Send your ideas to the
Webmaster by post or just drop them in the suggestion box next time you are in the forest.
