FRIENDS EVENTS
The Friends of Dalby Forest organise events to add to the enjoyment of visitors to the Forest. This page gives information on these events, some are regular annual events, and others sometimes lasting several days are less frequent. Watch this space for all the latest information
Halloween 2009
Everyone seemed to enjoy the free fun and games in and around the education room (see news item) and the new idea of a Best Costume Competition attracted 67 entries. The winners and runners up are shown below

Dalby Duck Dash
This is now held every Easter Monday at Staindale Beck. Yellow plastic ducks are released into the winding beck, each one numbered and keen to win the race! It's a fun day out for all the family.
The first race will be at 1pm and tickets will be on sale during the morning at the Friends marquee, where other attractions can be found.
Refreshments will be on sale throughout the day so come along and have some fun.
Halloween
The Friends of Dalby Forest volunteers entertain the children and adults when they return to the visitor centre after the scary walk. Lots of the old favourites games will be here and a few new ones too.
The scary dip will be there and a new costume competition for children and adults. We'll also have Splat the Rat, shove halfpenny, memory game, Hoopla and knock off the witches hat, among the games
Our games are all for free, but please note that the Forestry Commission do charge for this event whch is organised in conjunction with Scarborough College.
Watch out for more information - as Halloween approaches we'll be updating this page with more information.
Woodland Festivals
The last Woodland Festival took place on the 14th, 15th and 16th of September 2007. The first Woodland Festival took place in 2005 and proved very successful. You can read more about it by clicking on the link 2005 Woodland Festival. We currently have no plans to hold another festival but watch out for more news in the future.
